AFRICAN DANCE CLASS

Our African dance programs harness your creative energy, challenge your body, discipline your mind, and teach you about African culture. The intrinsic value of African dance is that it is physically challenging, offers excellent cardiovascular activity, increases flexibility and coordination, and improves the attention span.  Participants are encouraged to perform with the company at more than 20 performances a year.

In person with Yahaya KamateFridays: 6:00pm Children 3 to 107:00pm Pre-Teens, Teens and Adults 

WITHOUT MEMBERSHIP, IN-PERSON CLASSES ARE: ADULTS  $15, CHILDREN, TEENS, SENIORS, AND COLLEGE STUDENTS (WITH ID) $9

MEMBERSHIP DETAILS: INCOME-ELIGIBLE WITH 1040 TAX FORM DOCUMENTATION: CHILD AND COLLEGE STUDENT MEMBERSHIP $20.00; ADULT MEMBERSHIP $30.00; FAMILY MEMBERSHIP (UP TO 8) $50.00. 
NON-INCOME-ELIGIBLE: CHILD AND COLLEGE STUDENT MEMBERSHIP $30; ADULT MEMBERSHIP $40; FAMILY MEMBERSHIP $60.  
CLASS FEES:
With membership, classes are $10 per class for Adults,  $7 for Children, Teens, and Seniors, and $5 per class for College Students (with ID). Membership also entitles you to discounts for Chiku Awali tickets to events, workshops, outside trips, etc.   The first-year membership entitles you to a Chiku Awali T-shirt (2 for a family membership) while supplies last. Membership is paid annually in September. 
MOST CLASSES ARE FREE TO ROCKLAND COUNTY INCOME-ELIGIBLE MEMBERS. 
MONTHLY PLANS ARE AVAILABLE FOR OUT-OF-COUNTY AND NON-INCOME-ELIGIBLE MEMBERS.
